Term Two Under Way.

Term Two
It has been a busy start to Term Two.  We have a new pupil Hannah in our class so there is now 24 pupils in room 14.
In maths we spent the first two weeks investigating geometry.  We researched what symmetrical meant and we complete some fabulous sketches of our symmetrical faces.  We also learnt lots about two and three dimensional shapes, parallel lines, vertical and horizontal direction and have been practising our left from our right.

Our fast facts programme is happening everyday and on Friday's the children that have achieved three 20 out of 20s in a row complete the mastery 5 minute speed challenge on fridays.  Congratulation to Daniel, Charnce and Shey who have al moved up a level.

In writing we have been learning to add more adjectives and description into our narratives.  Children will post some of these on the blog for you to read or listen too.

We are very lucky that Mrs Roberts is helping us in reading time so we have been getting stuck into some quality reading.

In topic we have investigating ways we can heat water using solar energy.  The children are exploring the sun, its energy and how we can collect its energy in order to heat water.

For information computer technology we have starting putting together a slide show. We will post this on the blog when it is completed.

It sounds like Mrs Donald is having a great time and learning heaps of new things about our fascinating world on her travels.  Its great viewing her blog postings and following her journey.  We wish her well with her continuing travels.

Thanks for visiting our class blog.
